Interior Design magazine honored Colacion Studio’s Kuwait City-based project, Tamdeen Group, as a finalist at the magazine’s 6th annual Best of the Year Awards on Thursday, December 1. The ceremony was held at New York City’s IAC Building, where over 900 design professionals gathered to celebrate this year’s most innovative and inspiring projects and products from around the globe.
The Tamdeen Group was a finalist among four other extraordinary projects in the Large Office (50,000 – 100,000 s.f.) category. Yvonne Colacion of Southern California-based Colacion Studio spearheaded the fit-out for the Middle Eastern real estate development company’s 50,000 s.f. office space. The result is an elegant and dynamic space, which features contemporary design, while celebrating traditional elements of the Gulf region.
Finalists were selected by qualified interior designers and architects via an online vote during a two week period in October, and category winners were determined by Editor-in-Chief Cindy Allen and a jury of design leaders.
“I feel so honored to have Tamdeen Group selected as a finalist in the company of such incredible projects representing the best design throughout the world,” says Colacion. “Interior Design is the most prestigious and provocative publication in the design industry today, and so it’s very exciting to have Tamdeen Group recognized. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners.”
